Plateau Speaker Tasks ECWA Leadership

The Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Yakson Sanda, has visited leadership of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) and urged them not to relent in contributing positively to the growth of Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

The Speaker added that he was at the ECWA headquarters to thank the leadership for making its presence felt over the years and to identify with the positive contributions the church had been making towards moving Plateau State and Nigeria forward.

According to him, ECWA had contributed massively in the areas of education, healthcare delivery, agriculture and social welfare, among others.

He added that the church had been setting the pace in providing quality education through its educational institutions spread across Nigeria which had trained many citizens irrespective of religious and denominational differences.

The speaker assured that the leadership of the legislature was committed to providing good governance to all the citizens and would continue to support the good work of the church.

Responding ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Stephen Baba Panya, thanked the speaker for finding time to come and identify with the church.

He said that ECWA as a Bible would continue to build on the foundation of truth, honesty and serving as the light of the world and called on its members in government not to allow themselves to be swallowed by the evils in the society.

He pointed out that legislative work was serious business that called for sincerity and commitment and urged the speaker to ensure that the 9th assembly worked with the fear of God and love for humanity.

Rev. Panya gave assurance that ECWA would continue to support its sons and daughters in politics to provide quality leadership that would turn around the fortunes of the country. Prayers were offered for the speaker, members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, the state government and Nigeria at large.
