Succor has come the way of victims of Fulani herdsmen’s attacks in Irigwe chiefdom of Bassa LGA, as the Evangelical Church Winning All(ECWA), has donated 350 bundles of roofing zinks and other relief materials worth millions of naira.

Recall that recently, the Irigwe people have witnessed unceasing attacks by Fulani militias which has resulted into the loss of 77 people, more than 240 farm lands destroyed and houses and other properties, set fire.

Apart from the burning down of houses and hefty looting of domestic animals, this situation has rendered so many people homeless and have been subjected to Internally displaced conditions as well as the crippling of the economic development.

President of ECWA Rev. (Dr) Stephen Baba Panya, presenting the items in Miango, he said that the gesture is to enable the victims go back to their communities and rebuilt the houses as the church would not allow the victims stand alone in their time of trial.

According to him, “ the church has taken steps to come to the community and commiserate with the victims who have lost their loved ones and properties and to also pray for the entire Rigwe nation for God to deliver the land from all sorts of evil plans.

He disclosed that the church apart from praying that it has been doing, they also felt the need to support victims with the ruffing Zink and clothing materials to enable them settle back again.

Rev. Baba called on churches, other relevant Christian organizations and the government to come to the aid of the Irigwe people due to the devastating nature of attacks and the destructions of farm land.

On how government can best address the issues of insecurity in the land, Rev. Baba had thrown it weight behind the calls for the creation of state police, as according to him, that is the only option left for the country if the security challenges facing Nigeria most be tackled.

He stressed that the current security structure in the country could not address the security challenges, hence the need for the federal government to allow for the creation of state police.

“Often times when there is a security breach, state governments are usually incapacitated in handling the situations,’’ and said that governors had expressed their frustrations over their inability to give order to federal security agencies whenever there are attacks in their states.

He urged the people not to lose faith in God and to remain prayerful as God will soon bring all the evil people perpetrating such act to book and urged government to redouble efforts in protecting citizens lives and properties as Nigerians.
