ECWA President Tasks Staff on Acquiring Digital Skills

ECWA staff have been charged to acquire knowledge in digitalization and cyber security to remain effective and relevant to the system.

ECWA President, Rev. Dr Job Ayuba Bagat threw the challenge in his address at the opening of a seminar organized by the Admin Department for Confidential Secretaries, Personal Assistants and other administrative staff of ECWA.

Speaking on the topic, ”Digitalization and Cyber Security for Effectiveness in the 21st Century,’’ the cleric said in an era where technology has permeated every aspect of life, understanding and embracing digital advancements while safeguarding every data of the church and privacy had become more crucial than ever.

While urging participants to put to use the knowledge acquired Rev. Dr. Bagat said, “Get wisdom, though it cost all you have, get understanding,’’ maintaining that the quest for  knowledge and understanding in digital and cyber security was not merely a “professional obligation but a pursuit of wisdom that would empower ECWA to navigate the complexity of the current digital age.”

He disclosed that this year’s seminar was carefully organized to equip participants with practical insights and strategies to enhance their digital and cyber security capabilities and tasked them to be open to enable them to learn from the resource persons that were selected to teach so that they can replicate same in their various DCCs, institutions and Departments.

Earlier, the Director, of the Personnel Department, Rev. Dr Yusuf Biniyat, commended the ECWA leadership for the support towards the department over the years acknowledging that the seminars which the department had been organizing have been paying off as according to him, had improved efficiency and effectiveness of the staff.

He disclosed that this year’s edition was different from previous ones as more staff have been identified and included in the seminar so that everyone would benefit from it.
