Plateau citizens have been called upon to totally surrender to God by being practical in the way they live daily.
A former governor of the State, Da Jonah Jang gave the charge in his remarks at the interdenominational victory thanksgiving organized by the Plateau State Government following the Supreme Court revalidation of the election of Gov. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
He said “We are here to give Him thanks for hearing our prayers and our cries. I want to urge the people of Plateau to surrender to Christ.”
The former governor decried the situation where every Sunday people carry “big Bibles to the Churches” yet do not live in accordance to the Bible.
“Why am I saying this, when I was on seat and there were these attacks, I cried with tears before God and God told me why are you crying to me? Your people are stiff-necked. If they hearken unto me will I allow these things to happen? Plateau State, let us turn to God, let us turn to Christ,” Jang stated.
He described the victory of Gov. Mutfwang as enough for those who were yet to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour to do so.
“The day they gave the judgement, I told the people who were with me that those that have not accepted Christ on the Plateau, by this case they must accept Christ because He has done it for us.”
“Let us turn to God, let us turn to Christ. He has heard us and He has answered our prayers. It is up to us now to support Caleb Mutfwang with our prayers for these coming 8 years.”
Jang who was full of gratitude to God for the victory said as the father of Plateau State, “I want to pray and ask God “Father, Almighty, your son has appreciated what you have done for him and for Plateau and you have given him and Plateau State the victory, Father, as I said, as the father of Plateau State, I am handing him over to you.
“Father Almighty, receive him and his family, receive him and his cabinet, receive him and his appointees, that Father Almighty, once again, we hand over Plateau State to you. Thank you for giving him to us a governor. Father Almighty, may you hold him by your righteous right hand and lead him in your path of righteousness, truthfulness, holiness, so that he will serve you in your righteousness, truthfulness and holiness so that Plateau will be known as your own home because you have chosen Plateau State to bless Nigeria. Give him the opportunity to do it for you and on our behalf.”
