The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Plateau State Chapter, has a new chairman.  He is, Rev Dunka Joseph Gomwalk, Senior Pastor, Covenant Word Christian Church International (CWCCI).

In a dinner organized by members of his church to thank God for his elevation held at the CWCCI in Jos, the Plateau State capital, they thanked God for lifting him to that level of servanthood and pledged to support him to succeed.

Addressing guests at the event, the Anglican Archbishop of Jos, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Kwashi, described Rev Dunka as a very humble and God-fearing man who had proven to be a child of God worthy of any kind of responsibility.

He disclosed that, he had been a part of the Gomwalk family who had walked closely with Dunka whom he knew from childhood and assured the PFN that the new chairman would not fail them.

He added that, just as Timothy in the Scripture, the choice of Rev. Dunka was divine and urged the PFN to continue upholding their new leader in prayers so that he would succeed.

He called on the Church to explore the world through aggressive evangelism to win souls for the kingdom as Satan was working hard to drag many into hell fire.

The immediate past chairman of PFN, Plateau State, Rev Stephen Dangana, thanked God for the grace to have a humble successor, adding that, although attaining that leadership position wasn’t easy, the body of Christ had spoken with one voice by choosing Rev. Dunka.

He stated that the choice of the Pastor was done by the 38 PFN advisory council members in the state who are responsible in choosing successors and said that no one of them had a contrary view when the council met to decide.

Also speaking, Vice President PFN, North Central Zone, Prophet Dr. Isa El Buba, disclosed that the choice of Rev. Dunka was divine as he was the true revelation from God and called on Christians in the state to support him to deliver.

Represented by his wife, Joyce El-Buba, the prophet disclosed that greater things awaited the PFN in the state as Rev Dunka would be used by God to unite Christendom and ignite the fire of revival in the church.

Responding, Rev Dunka Gomwalk appreciated God, his family and his church for always standing by him in all situations.

Rev Dunka thanked the fellowship for finding him worthy of such exalted position and gave assurance that he would do everything possible to justify the confidence reposed in him.

According to him, even though, the position did not come to him as a surprise as God had been speaking to him and had prepared him for it, he was humbled by the decision to select him.

According to him, as a pastor in the Lord’s vineyard, he would continue to do the will of his father in heaven and feed the sheep God had entrusted to him.
He promised to carry everyone along in building a strong and godly PFN in the state.

The reception dinner was attended by guests from within and outside the PFN in the state.
