The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam has showered encomiums on the leadership of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), for standing tall in carrying out the mandate given by Jesus Christ by spreading the gospel to the whole world and impacting positively in the lives of Nigerians through job creation and other humanitarian services.
Rev. Pam stated this when he recently paid a courtesy visit to the ECWA executives at the ECWA Headquarters in Jos.
The cleric said “I can say without mincing words that ECWA has taken the lead globally in terms of evangelism and so, one might not be out of context when I say that ECWA is now the giant in world of evangelism’’.
Rev. Pam who expressed delight for the visit to the ECWA leaders described the ECWA President as a “very humble and great leader” who is committed to the things of God and the Great Commission and urged him to relent in the good work he is doing towards moving the church forward especially in these end times.
While applauding ECWA for establishing its headquarters in Jos as well the role it is playing towards the restoration of lasting peace in the state, the NCPC scribe called on the church ensure that it remains the symbol of peace that it has been known for.
Rev. Pam acknowledged that since assumption of office as the Executive Secretary of the NCPC, he has enjoyed smooth partnership and support from the ECWA President assuring that he will continue to work with him until the end of his tenure.
Rev Pam applauded ECWA’s contribution to nation building in the areas of education, provision of healthcare services, employment, agriculture and rural development among others which he said was visible in the nation’s economic growth.
He urged that ECWA as a global church that has been in the fore front of preaching peace and peaceful coexistence among people of all races and religious divides, should go beyond just spreading the gospel of Christ but rise up and ensure that its voice is heard in the affairs of nations by advocating good governance in countries where its presence is felt.
He thanked the church for supporting his new initiative promising that he will do everything within his powers to ensure total transformation of the NCPC for the better and called on Christians not to relent in supporting the Commission in making Christian pilgrimage a desired exercise for spiritual growth.
Receiving the NCPC boss, ECWA President Rev. (Dr) Stephen Panya Baba in company of other members of the ECWA executive thanked Rev. Yakubu Pam for the visit describing it as a honour to ECWA assuring that the Church would continue to work and pray for success during his tenure.
According to Rev. Baba, he has known Rev. Yakubu Pam for quite some time adding that his consistency as a co-worker in the Lord’s vineyard and commended him for his contributions to the advancement of God’s kingdom as commendable.
He disclosed that with ECWA Headquarters in Jos, Plateau is considered as home to every member pledging that the church would continue to do everything possible to promote peace and peaceful coexistence in the state.
The cleric reiterated that ECWA will continue to partner with the government especially on programs that would benefit the electorates. He however, called on the government not to lose focus in its efforts towards developing the state in all facets.
He also appealed to the government to intensify efforts to ensure the resettling all victims of incessant herdsmen attacks especially in Miango, Yelwa Zangam and other communities in the state so as to reduce their suffering.
The NCPC Executive Secretary was accompanied on the visit by some top Christian clerics in the state.
