The management of Plateau State University (PLASU) has commiserated with the family of Late Professor Francis N. Fayam who passed on recently at the Jos University Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.
During a condolence visit to the family, PLASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yohana Daniel Izam, who led the management team of the university on the condolence visit to the deceased family said late Prof. Fayam acknowledged the contributions he made to the institution stating, that the deceased contributed tremendously to the growth and development of the University particularly in mentoring young lecturers.
The VC, who spoke through the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Jurji Nengak Gomos, said the University is saddened by the death of Professor Fayam and prayed God to comfort and strengthen the family he left behind.
He added that it is usually not easy for a family to loss it’s breadwinner, he however, encouraged the family to take consolation in God who is the great provider assuring them that PLASU’s readiness to support the family whenever the need arises.
Also speaking, the Head of Department, History and International Studies, Dr. Longmam Geoffrey Pienswan eulogized the late Professor Francis Fayam describing him as a father who impacted them positively stating that they will forever remembered him for his mentoring role.
Responding on behalf of the family, Onosemaode Alice Fayam thanked the PLASU management and all others who stood by the family during the ill health of their late father until his death and prayed God to reward the management, staff and students of the University for their support and prayers. The late Professor Francis Fayam, until his death, was a lecturer with the Department of History and International Studies and Director of the Directorate of Research and Development of the University of Plateau State, Bokkos.
