ECWA GS Tasks JETS Graduates on Godly Representation

General Secretary of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Ayuba Asheshe, has urged graduating students of the Jos ECWA Theological Seminary, (JETS), to keep the flag of the institution flaying and be godly.
He disclosed that JETS had been making ECWA proud in all spheres of life, adding that those of them that had ventured into politics and other disciplines were representing God and the institution adequately and called on the graduating students to follow suit.
He stated that the leadership of the church had resolved to continue supporting all her institutions, especially Bible schools and seminaries, because of their peculiarity in the work of advancing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ here on earth.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, congratulated the graduating students and urged them to use the knowledge acquired for the transformation of humanity.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Jatau, the governor called on JETS students to enroll with the Plateau State Scholarship Board so that they can also benefit from the scheme as it is open to all indigenes of the states in tertiary institutions.
He disclosed that the present administration had increased the scholarship by 300% adding that the welfare of citizens would continue to be a top priority of government.
Guest Speaker at the occasion, Rev. Prof. Musa Barnabas Gaiya, applauded the institution for making remarkable progress in the academic world and noted that JETS was highly respected not only in Nigeria but in Africa as a whole.
According to him, ECWA was already a global church through its renewed cross border mission initiative which had spread into other African countries and beyond.
Prof. Gaiya cautioned the church against vices that could lead to internal decay such as corruption, division and intra-church conflicts while external forces such as Islam could lead to the destruction of the church.
Earlier in a welcome address, Provost of the Seminary and ECWA Trustee, Sunday Bobai Agang, described the institution as a serene environment for Biblical and theological research for holistic engagement.
According to him, the 40th graduation ceremony of the institution was the culmination of many hours of studies, reflections and obedience to God’s word by the graduands.
He disclosed that the institution, in partnership with Scolar Leaders, had successfully put in place a strategic plan which had resulted in a significant shift in terms of understanding the global environment which is already feasible for implementation to cover seven years from now.
Prof. Agang disclosed that the excellent academic performances of the institution had made it the envy of all and many students were struggling to come to the school, hence the need to build more classrooms and students hostels.
He added that the institution had fulfilled its obligations by paying salaries, upgrading of her clinic, developed faculties and obtained full accreditation for the ECWA College of Education, Jos, among others.
Certificates and awards were later presented to the graduating and deserving students who excelled in their various fields of endeavours among others.
