The Church is deeply concerned about the ongoing loss of innocent lives, Adeboye tells Gov. Mutfwang

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Plateau State regarding the recent wave of violent attacks on communities within the state.

During a sympathy visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Jos, Pastor Adeboye stated, “The Church is deeply concerned about the persistent loss of innocent lives.”

He described the killings as senseless and heart-wrenching, and reassured Governor Mutfwang that the RCCG has been fervently praying for the state, trusting that God will intervene and bring lasting peace.

Accompanied by state leaders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), the clergyman said, “We are here to encourage you and to let you know that even in these difficult times, we have not relented in our prayers for Plateau State.

“We have dedicated a special hour of prayer for the state, believing that a new story will emerge—one of peace, restoration, and hope.”

Pastor Adeboye added, “There are times when the flesh may fail, but God never fails.”

The cleric also informed Governor Mutfwang that he and his team were in the state for the 2025 annual retreat at the RCCG Camp in Heipang, Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area.

He noted that visiting the Governor and offering prayers for the state’s healing and restoration was important.

Responding Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed his gratitude for the RCCG’s consistent support and spiritual intercession for Plateau State.

He recalled that the RCCG Camp in Heipang, once abandoned due to insecurity, has now resumed activities, signifying a return of hope and resilience.

Gov. Mutfwang attributed this improvement to the proactive efforts of security agencies and their strong collaboration with his administration. Mutfwang stated, “It is only when men of God lift their voices to heaven that God grants them wisdom and answers the cries of His people. We thank you, sir, for your love for the land and your unwavering commitment to building the body of Christ.

“We look forward to joining the prayers because we believe that as we look up to God, our refuge and strength, He will provide us with divine direction and the wisdom to lead rightly.”

The governor also commended Pastor Adeboye for his long-standing concern and intercessory role in the affairs of Plateau State.
