May Day: Ag. PLASU VC Praises Unions, Rejoices with Workers

Acting Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University (PLASU) Professor Shedrack Best has felicitated with the staff of the institution on this year’s May Day celebration.
In his message, Prof. Best said, “Today, we celebrate the dedication, resilience, and invaluable contributions of every single member of our esteemed institution. Your tireless efforts are the very bedrock upon which our university stands and thrives.”
The Acting Vice Chancellor specifically acknowledged the pivotal roles played by the various unions particularly the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU).
The University don added that the “collective strength, advocacy, and unwavering commitment” to the welfare of the union members “are integral to the smooth functioning and progress of PLASU.”
Highlighting the various contributions of the university’s personnel, the Acting Vice Chancellor described the academic staff as “guiding lights, imparting knowledge, fostering critical thinking, and igniting the passion for learning in our students,” shaping future leaders and driving research.
He also praised the non-academic staff describing them as “unsung heroes who ensure the seamless operation of our university’s infrastructure and services creating an enabling environment for teaching, research, and learning.”
Professor Best who underscored the importance of the synergy between academic and non-academic staff emphasized that the “collaborative spirit strengthens the pursuit of excellence, fuels research, and enriches the learning environment for students.”
He also reiterated PLASU’s commitment to fostering a harmonious and progressive working environment where every member feels valued and empowered. “Your well-being and professional growth remain paramount,” he assured. “Thank you, once again, for your unwavering dedication and hard work. Your contributions are deeply appreciated and are instrumental in attaining Plateau State University’s noble goals. Happy Workers’ Day”
