ATTACKS: WE’LL SEEK JUSTICE FOR THE DEAD, MUTFWANG REASSURES PLATEAU CITIZENS

Governor Caleb Mutfwang has assured the people of Plateau that his administration would not relent in seeking justice for victims of attacks in the state.

He also reminded the people that the state government can defend the defenseless.

Gov. Mutfwang gave the assurance while being presented with a protest letter from the Christian community for onward transmission to President Bola Tinubu.

The governor reassured that anyone arrested in connection with the killings would not go scot-free.

Said he, “I want you to know that we have records of all the killings that have taken place. We have never relented in investigating any report of any killing or attack.

“In the past, people were arrested but the investigation was not concluded, they were released but this time, by the grace of God, I will ensure that anyone arrested in connection with these killings does not go scot-free.

“We will seek justice for the dead but beyond that, we have been discussing with Mr President and the heads of security agencies on how to strategize to protect our communities.”

While reassuring them of government’s effort in ensuring adequate security, the governor appealed to the protesters not to “throw away our values.”

“Despite the pains in our hearts, we must not throw away our values. We are people of peace; we will continue to pursue peace and follow the tenets of peace. But let me assure you also, that we do not lack the capacity to rise to the defence of the defenceless.”
