Retreat: ECWA in Search of Transformative Innovation for Effective Ministry

Transformative innovation in a dynamic society was the focus at the 2024 annual ECWA Executive retreat held at the Miango Rest Home in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria.

The retreat which had in attendance members of the ECWA executive, heads of various departments, institutions, units and fellowship group leaders ended with a communique in which participants resolved to adopt and integrate emerging technological tools to ensure improved service delivery in ECWA.

In a 10-point communique presented at the end of the 4-day retreat, which focused on “Transformative Innovation of ECWA in Dynamic Society,” participants acknowledged that collaboration and partnership are key to fostering transformative innovation in a dynamic society.

The communique signed by the ECWA President, Rev. Dr Job Ayuba Bagat, and the ECWA General Secretary, Rev Ayuba Asheshe, participants expressed readiness to embrace the culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation and fostering partnership by leveraging resources and expertise to drive innovation and improve efficiency in service delivery in all ECWA establishments.

The communique which read in part said, “Participants at the retreat resolved to provide training and capacity building programmes to equip staff with the skills and knowledge needed to drive innovation, improved efficiency and enhance stakeholder engagement.

“To redefine and upgrade curriculum at all levels of her educational institutions to accommodate the needs of the current trends in technology as well as foster critical thinking, creativity and adaptability.

“Promote collaboration between the different units and departments of ECWA for innovative solutions.”

The 4-day gathering featured various paper presentations, syndicate group discussions, question and answer sessions and an interaction with the ECWA executive among other activities.
