The newly elected council chairmen of the 17 Local Government Councils of Plateau State have been advised to align with Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s agenda and blueprint for the state.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the presentation of the Certificate of Return to the elected Chairmen of Pankshin, Hon. Felix Amos Gonung and his Langtang North counterpart, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem at the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission Headquarters in Jos, the Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan highlighted the governor’s dedication to the state’s development and urged the chairmen to emulate this commitment through collaboration.

Recall that PLASIEC had on Thursday, October 11, presented Certificates of Return to 15 out of the 17 LGAs without Pankshin and Langtang North whose results were not ready at the time of the final declaration of the poll results.
On the outcome of the LG elections conducted across the 17 LGAs of the state, the lawmaker said “As you know, I am from the opposition and as the opposition party, we are in the best position to assess the election. To be fair to the electoral umpire and the government in power, the election was free and fair and I commend them. It is not time to judge them based on their autonomy.”
While urging the newly elected council executives to collaborate with the Mutfwang administration the Speaker said “We have a governor today who within the shortest time has shown courage, determination and zeal to work for Plateau. So, my advice to the elected chairmen is for them to collaborate with the state governor by keying into his agenda and blueprint to move Plateau forward. Because the government at the grassroot is the local government, they should emulate what the governor is doing.
