Use Your Numerical Strength to Install Godly Leadership-ECWA President

ECWA President, Rev (Dr) Stephen Baba Panya, has called on Nigerian youth to use their numerical strength to install credible leaders that will turn around the fortunes of the country during the forthcoming elections.

Rev. Panya made the call recently while declaring open the ECWA Youth Fellowship International Conference, held in Kaltungo Gombe State.

According to him, since the seriousness of the coming elections could not be overemphasized, Nigerian youth should come together and work for the betterment of their future.

He said, “Time has come for you to get it right this time around, when you vote in the wrong people, you’ll have no choice than to live with bad governance for another four years to come, therefore, rise up and take the opportunity of wright the wrongs already done to the country.”

Represented by the ECWA Vice President, Rev. Sunday Stephen Ajise, the president disclosed that, the youth were at an advantage with a voting population of 70,473,990.

Also speaking, leader of the International Youth Fellowship, Isaiah Isah, stated that ECWA youth were more enlightened than ever before and would resist any attempt by individuals or groups that may want to lure them into acts that are detrimental to their growth and the development of the nation.

He called on the youth not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs or instruments of disrupting the election processes and reminded them to continue to remain the salt and light of the society.

In his welcome address, Chairman, North East Zone DCCs, Rev. Dr. Isa Uba, appreciated the youth fellowship for granting the zone the right to host the event and explained that the conference was essentially conceived towards regenerating and rejuvenating the spiritual being and moral compass of Christian youth within ECWA.

He thanked God that the fellowship had over the years been working to address salient issues that had made them prone and susceptible to worldly pursuits and less edifying activities.

He called on the youth to use the conference as a paradigm shift and holistic approach towards spiritual repositioning, adding that time had come for every youth to make amends and live worthy of their calling in Christ Jesus.

In his speech, Director, ECWA Christian Education Department, Rev. Ishaku Yaro, thanked ECWA and the youth for making the conference a reality.

He disclosed that the last conference was held in 2017 at the Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State, adding that the leadership of the fellowship and the department had to take a bold step to plan for the triennial conference in Gombe after it could not hold last year in Imo state.

The Director appreciated the youth for partnering with other agencies in advancing the cause of the Gospel in this end time and encouraged them to continue to do more.

Guest Speaker at the event, Rev. Prof. Isaac Laudarji, appealed to the youth to make their ways right with God if the church must occupy as directed by the scriptures.

According to him, the call to occupy was a divine instruction to which the youth must respond in all areas of growth and development.

He added that God was calling them to rise and take possession of all aspects of life such as the political, economic, entertainment industry and education.

Highlight of the conference was teachings by seasoned professionals, expository messages, quiz competitions, songs presentation by Evangel Arts and lots more.
