By Danjuma Auta

Arrangements have been completed for the building of a multi-million naira ECWA Development Finance Scheme Ltd (EDFSL) Plaza in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Conducting members of the ECWA Executive round the site on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the Managing Director and Chief Executive EDFSL, Mr. Solomon Edokpa, said that the organization was ready to change the face of structures inherited from the founding fathers of ECWA by giving them a modern outlook.

According to him, since EDFSL was established, it had been taking bold steps towards meeting the objectives of the company through the provision of infrastructure to the church.

He disclosed that the company had constructed commercial structures in Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Kaduna before embarking on the ED Plaza in Jos, the headquarters of the church, which was carefully chosen so that ECWA would contribute to expanding the economy of Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

Mr. Edokpa added that many EDFSL clients, particularly those in Jos, who had been hearing about the giant strides of the company without seeing any of such structures physically would now appreciate Homes Plaza in Jos which would attract many other investors.

He stated that when completed, the plaza would provide offices for EDFSL staff and for commercial purposes and thanked the Board and the ECWA executive for the support EDFSL management had been enjoying towards the realization of the project.

According to him, the Plaza will provide mixed-use business accommodation for commercial purposes and thanked the Board and the ECWA executive for the vision and support to embark on the project.

He explained that professionals had been recruited to deliver a quality job at record time while pre-letting of large partitionable halls in the two-storey building is expected to commence in June 2022.

ECWA President, Rev (Dr) Stephen Baba Panya, thanked the Board and management of EDFSL for the bold step they had been taking towards ensuring that the objectives of establishing the company were achieved, noting that the project would go a long way in meeting the problem of commercial accommodations in the state.

Reading from the book of Proverbs16:3, the cleric enjoined the company to always commit whatever they were doing to the Lord, adding that ECWA was successful today due to the foundation of faith laid by its founding fathers and urged the Board and management of EDFSL to build on it.

He added that it was high time for the church to diversify, especially now that the economic situation in the country and the entire world was worsening.

He pointed out that, as a church-based organisation, EDFSL must be cautious of the laborers employed to work at the site so as to meet their needs spiritually and physically in order to earn God’s blessings from the beginning to the end of the project.

Prayers where offered by the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. (Dr) Yunusa Sabo Nmadu, for the workers at the site, EDFSL Board and management for the successful completion of the project.
