Social righteousness is transforming Nigerians

Country Director, Grace and Light Ministry International, Mrs. Tassie Ghata, has said that her organization through its social righteousness programme has been transforming lives of many Nigerians who had lost hope in themselves.

Mrs Ghata stated this during the ministry’s Annual General meeting held at the cooperate headquarters of the organization at Dong Kassa, Miango Road, Jos Plateau State.

She said, “Our organization has continued to bring God’s message and help people to understand their reason for existing through our social righteousness messages which includes, work and corruption, wealth and poverty sexual and gender based violence in addition to helping the church respond to HIV and AIDS.’’

She added that the ministry had done well over the years and thanked God and the ministry’s supporters, for keeping its work alive through the book outreach ministry which has been changing lives and making many to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior.

According to her, the ministry had also achieved a lot in the areas of school ministry, ministry in churches, HIV and AIDS intervention.

She explained that the new initiative, of Voluntary Savings and Accountability Groups, was introduced to enhance the organization’s life which has made many members to be accountable for their lives.

She reiterated her determination to complete the ongoing Training Center Project of the organization, and thanked all partners and donors for making the project their heartbeats.

Earlier, the Chairman Board of Directors, Grace and Light Ministry, Dr. Mark Hopkins, decried the way Christians were being consumed by unrighteousness, adding that the righteous in the land shall live by faith.

He assured that, as a Christian organization, Grace and Light would continue to preach and teach the message of righteousness and holiness to ensure that people live pure lives that would make them make heaven.

He disclosed that Grace and Light was satisfied with the activities of the Country Director, Mrs. Tassie Ghata, and her management and pledged their support towards ensuring that the organization upholds and maintains its mission.

A one-time Commissioner of Information, Plateau State, Yiljap Abraham, in a presentation on the topic, `Politics of Righteousness,’ stressed the need for righteous people to dominate the political stage, because things have been falling apart in the country due to certain decisions taken by unrighteous people.

He called on Christians to rise up to the challenges of addressing social tensions in the home front, “ the social tension happening in our homes are purely due to our nonchalant attitude of the church who seemingly believed that prayers only were what we need to change Nigeria.’’

According to him, the crises in the society today was responsible for making life difficult for the average Nigerian and pointed out that politics of righteousness went beyond rhetorics.

The meeting featured talks by health professionals on drug abuse, financial audit reports and the organization’s annual report.
