ECWA Women Fellowship Elects New Officials

ECWA Women Fellowship International now has a new Vice Leader, secretary and financial secretary for the next three years.

These elections which were held during a three day international leaders’ consultative meeting at the ECWA International Conference Center, Jos, Plateau State, was attended by all the DCC women leaders from the 91 ECWA District Church Councils in Nigeria and beyond.

ECWA President, Rev. (Dr) Stephen Baba Panya, while inaugurating the newly elected officials, congratulated those who had served for the past six years saying that ECWA would continue to be grateful for their selfless services and contributions in advancing the work of the fellowship and the gospel of Christ.

Represented by the Acting Assistant ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Samuel Atu, the President commended the fellowship for being a major driver in the Great Commission.

 Rev. Baba called on the new leaders to cooperate with Mrs. Philips and others whose tenure was yet to end so that the fellowship would attain greater heights.

Director, Christian Education Department, Rev. Ishaku Yaro, praised the women for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during and after the elections, adding that the department would continue to work with the leadership of the women to keep the vision of the fellowship alive.

Leader of the Women Fellowship International, Mrs. Miriam Philips, appreciated ECWA and the Christian Education Department for their support since she came into office.

She called on the newly elected officers to be humble and ready to work selflessly towards moving the fellowship forward.

She assured that the fellowship would join forces with ECWA executive to advance the Great Commission and called on all leaders to be committed towards achieving greatness.

She disclosed that the textile project, which had ECWA women as a major stakeholder, was on course and called on the women to be more committed towards ensuring that the project became a reality in the shortest possible time.

Responding on behalf of the outgone leaders, the immediate past Vice Leader, Mrs. Lois Shadrack Babale, thanked God and ECWA for the opportunity given them to serve for the past six years in the Lord’s vineyard.

She disclosed that, they had enjoyed working with their colleagues as one big family despite the challenges encountered.

She added that the fellowship witnessed unprecedented transformations and thanked the women for their support. The past leaders whose tenure had ended were, Mrs. Lois Shadrack Babale, outgone vice leader, Mrs. Mary Mamman, secretary, and Mrs. Dada Folashade served as the financial secretary. The newly elected officers of the fellowship includes Mrs. Mary Simon, Zonkwa zone, vice leader, Mrs. Rifkatu Audu Garba, secretary, North East zone and Mrs. Chidimma Ezeagbo, from the South East zone was elected to serve as financial secretary of the fellowship.
