Probe Killings, Brutalization of Nigerians – CLASFON
By Ralph Madugu
The Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON) has called for a probe into the recent killings and brutalization of unarmed citizens by alleged Nigerian Army and other security operatives in different parts of the country.
In a statement signed by its National President, Arome Okwori and secretary, Olatunji Omole, the group called for investigation into the “brutal and violent attacks on peaceful ENDSARS protesters” at the Lekki Toll Plaza, Lagos, on October 20, 2020.

CLASFON pointed out that Nigerian youth were entitled to the freedom of expression, assembly and thought guaranteed by the constitution which is the hall mark of true democracy.
While urging Nigerian youth to remain calm, maintain law and order and conduct themselves peacefully, CLASFON sympathized with those who lost their loved ones and prayed God to comfort and strengthen them.
“In line with the Motto of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which is ‘Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress’, we demand that all the organs, persons and authorities of the Government of Nigeria should preserve and promote these core values and pray for wisdom, courage and the willingness to do what is right, on their part, in the present circumstance, and for peace and tranquility to reign throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
